Waiting on the News

Man's natural tendency is to disregard God. That pattern is seen throughout the Bible. Before the news of Jesus reached the ears of Mary, God's people were sent prophets with the very words of God preached through them. As we tend to do today, even those who identified themselves as God's chosen people, rejected the preaching of the prophets.

The book of Malachi records the last words God would speak through a prophet for about 400 years. What were those words and how do they speak to us today as followers of Jesus? Consider what the Israelites who were living 400 years after that had to be thinking, Would God ever speak to them again? Maybe that's been you. It's been a while since you've heard from God because you have rejected Him as the Lord of your life in some way.
