The Abrahamic Covenant

Sometimes, we hear God's word and it sounds pretty unbelievable, perhaps impossible. When God made a covenant with Abraham it seemed kind of far-fetched. He told Abraham, who was in his eighties, that he would have a child. But Abraham heard God's word and believed it. Genesis 15:6 tells us, "Abram believed the Lord and he credited it to him as righteousness."
Now, righteousness does not mean right activity. Abraham had not "done" anything. Righteousness in the Bible means right-standing with God. Do you have right-standing with God? His word tells us that he has made an open-ended covenant with all those who would believe that God raised Jesus from the dead, and confess Him as Lord. And that belief results in righteousness.
